    Xàtiva

    We start out visit in the Historical Centre, with its cobbled streets, plazas and traditional architecture. A lot of the streets are decorated with lights and festive ambience at Christmas, making it perfect for strolling around and taking lots of photos.We will go to Albereda Jaume I, where the Monumental Nativity Scene of Xàtiva is assembled, one of the biggest in Spain, with life-size figures and scenes that we can walk through and contemplate the details. The Traditional Nativity Scene and the Hebrew Nativity Scene are close together and can optionally be visited in San Francesc church.We will walk around the Christmas Market and Fair near the Nativity Scene.

    Breakfast and departure to Madrid centre, accompanied by our official guide on a route around the emblematic sites of the city.Free time in Madrid for lunch (not included) in any of the wonderful taverns around the city.In the evening, our guide will take us on a route to see the Christmas lights in Madrid.At the agreed time we will return to the hotel.Dinner and accommodation.(Whoever wants to can take an optional trip out to a Musical).

    Albarracín

    Albarracín is one of the most beautiful villages in the world, located in region of Aragón.We will walk around its narrow streets and enjoy the traditional architecture: Plaza Mayor, fortified walls, the Church and Salvador Cathedral (dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries), the Diocesan Museum and the Pérez y Toyuela manor house.We will then follow the River Guadalaviar around the outskirts of the town.

    Tabarca and Elche

    We will arrive at the city and take a guided tour around El Palmeral de Elche. It is an historical date palm forest, the biggest in Europe with over 200,000 trees. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000 and is representative of a unique Islamic farming system (8th-9th centuries), designed as an oasis for crops.

    La Vall d'Uixó and San José Caves

    The day starts off at the Sant Josep Caves, the main natural attraction of Vall d’Uixó, a spectacular cave system with one of the longest navigable underground rivers in Europe.Guided tour in boat (approx. 40-45 mins.). On the way we will see galleries with unique karstic formations and enjoy a trip into the bowels of the Earth.After the caves, we will take a stroll around the historical centre of La Vall d’Uixó. We will follow the Camí de l’Aigua route with its aqueducts and visit the Muslim district.

    Requena

    We will walk around the walled medieval district of the town. Plaza de Albornoz and the Castle remains, St. María and St. Nicolás church. We will take a highly recommended 45 minute guided tour to the Cuevas de la Villa (caves), which are former underground wine cellars dating back to the 12th-15th centuries.

    Altea, Guadalest and Fuente del Algar

    On arriving, we will visit the historical centre, the Nuestra Señora del Consuelo church and we will walk up to the magnificent viewpoints.After strolling around the beautiful streets of Altea, we will head off to Guadalest and stroll around the streets before going up to San José Castle. The next stop will be a lunch featuring the typical dish par excellence in the area, “Olleta de Blat” It is a hearty stew, typical of the mountain regions, combining ground wheat with pulses, vegetables and pork.To round off the trip, we will visit the Fuentes del Algar.
