For their collaboration in this article, Pepón Nieto and Consum have donated 500€ to Fundación 26 de Diciembre.
Pepón Nieto (Málaga, 1967) is one of Spain’s most well-established and well-loved actors, with a career spanning more than three decades across film, theatre and television. Although he rose to fame with iconic series such as Periodistas and Los Hombres de Paco, his versatility has also enabled him to shine in cinema under directors like Alex de la Iglesia. He is also a familiar face at the prestigious Teatro Clasico de Merida.
Here are his “five of”:

LACTOSE-FREE SKIMMED MILK
It’s the only one that agrees with me, so I always have some in the fridge. I drink it every morning with breakfast and it’s a lifesaver when I want a cup of coffee or glass of milk without surprises. I’ve got so used to it that, if it’s not this one, I don’t want it. It’s my absolute staple.

CRUSHED TOMATO
Homemade fried tomato is a staple in my house, so crushed tomatoes are essential for preparing it how I like it. I use them in lots of quick recipes when I’m short on time. I open the tin, heat it in the pan and half the dish is already cooked. It’s one of the things I always keep in reserve.

COOKED PULSES
I use them a lot in all sorts of ways: in salads, soups, stews… whatever’s going that day. They make my meals so much easier because they are practical and very versatile. What’s more, they taste great and they give you a real boost. Having a couple of jars on hand always gets me out of a tight spot.

COFEE CAPSULES
I can’t function without coffee, so capsules are the most practical choice for me. Just press the button and its ready without any complications. They’re great when I’m in a rush or half asleep. I always have a box at home because if I don’t have them, I can’t get going.

OLIVE OIL
It’s essential in any recipe. I use it for cooking, for dressings, for whatever is needed. A drizzle of good oil elevates any dish. For me, it’s like the liquid gold of the kitchen. It’s absolutely irreplaceable!
