How to remove the more resistant food stains from clothes
In the following article we leave you some tricks for those “friendly” stains, which want to stay on our clothes forever.
Food stains are common on clothes, especially if we have children at home. Although washing clothes is an everyday chore, if we find a stain, we should make the work easier for our washing machine.
Removing food stains from clothes is quick and easy
- Citrus fruit is your ally. This is a natural remedy to remove certain stains, although always with care as they can discolour your garment. We recommend applying it to a small area first, before trying this remedy, to see how it reacts.
- Wash immediately. As soon as a stain appears, it is best not to wait. In the case of stains caused by vegetables or plants, it is best to immerse the garment first in cold water, and then wash it in very hot water. In these cases, it is better to use a liquid detergent and avoid bars of soap.
- Vinegar as a cleaner. This is an old grandmothers’ trick used to clean parquet floors, too. But in the case of clothes, it is ideal to combat stains caused by wine or very strong sauces. You have to immerse the garment in cold water into which we will have previously added a squirt of vinegar.
- Egg yolk. Finally, we would like to talk about this natural stain remover if coffee should fall on your clothes, which is very common. In warm water it works perfectly.
- Dishwasher: A remedy that does not fail when talking about grease stains.
