Some fruits that we eat in summer are the ones that leave the most stubborn stains: strawberries, cherries, blackberries, peach, apricots and watermelon. Watermelon, so tasty, so summery, so refreshing but so sticky...watermelon is mainly made up of liquid and the stain of its juice can be stubborn, especially on white clothing, if you don’t act appropriately and quickly.
What products you need to remove watermelon stains
Stain remover. Dampen the stain and apply the stain remover directly onto it. Wash immediately afterwards with detergent.
Glycerine. Glycerine is a substance that works effectively on juice stains since it easily absorbs the residue. It is recommended in particular for delicate fabrics. Once the stain is covered with glycerine, wait for an hour until it takes effect. Then wash the fabric with warm water and detergent.
Oxygenated water or alcohol on non-delicate clothing. If the garment is not very delicate, you can use oxygenated water or even alcohol to get rid of it. For example, this remedy is useful for tablecloths or napkins and is equally as effective on other fruit stains, like cherry.
Washing-up liquid. If you don’t have glycerine soap to hand, a specific stain remover, lemon juice or oxygenated water, you can always use washing-up liquid. Apply it with a drop of water onto the stain and rub with your ringers until it generates foam. Rinse with warm water and repeat if necessary.
