MODERNIST FESTIVAL
For one week the town of Alcoy dresses in traditional attire, reconstructing scenes of daily life in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Processions, historical reconstructions, traditional dances and performances around the streets will surprise us along with its modernist market featuring craftwork and antiques which will be sure to catch our eye. Furthermore, we will be able to try typical Alcoy and Sierra de Mariola mountain cuisine, such as a paella with broad beans or Pericana spread.
VALENCIA - ALCOY
Departure from Valencia (Pantera Rosa and Nuevo Centro) to Alcoy.
On the day we arrive in Alcoy, we are sure to have a pleasant surprise to see how the townsfolk of Alcoy dress in traditional attire over that week, reconstructing scenes of daily life in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

We will be able to stroll around the streets and watch the processions and historical recreations, and also the modernist market where we will find craftwork and antiques.

After our initial trip around the town, we will be able to enjoy the traditional cuisine of Alcoy and Sierra de Mariola mountains, with dishes such as a paella with broad beans or Pericana spread.

After lunch, we will be able to carry on enjoying the Fair and its traditional dance performances, plays and others, where historical and cultural events of the period are acted out.

At the end of the trip we will return to Valencia.

Requena
We will walk around the walled medieval district of the town. Plaza de Albornoz and the Castle remains, St. María and St. Nicolás church. We will take a highly recommended 45 minute guided tour to the Cuevas de la Villa (caves), which are former underground wine cellars dating back to the 12th-15th centuries.
