Trout

Trout is a white fish belonging to the Salmonidae family. It has an elongated, smooth, slender and agile body, which is silver in colour and features flecks of different colours. In fact, its external coloration varies depending on the species, amount of light, and age of the animal, among other factors. It has a robust head with an upper jaw that reaches beyond the eye and contains sharp teeth.

Despite being a reasonably large fish, trout fins are relatively quite small. Trout flesh can be white or pinky-orange, depending on their diet. In Spain, a distinction is thus made between trout which is white, and that which is "asalmonada", or salmon-coloured.
