Magic eraser is a cleaning sponge made from melamine resin. When it is moistened, it produces an abrasive foam that works in a similar to a very fine file that can remove a thin layer of the damaged surface. Its composition means that magic eraser can penetrate small cracks and pores, to easily bring out the dirt and stains without the need for detergents or other products.
How to use magic eraser?
Do not use it on delicate surfaces: it acts as an abrasive and it is therefore not recommended for use on surfaces that can scratch easily, such as LCD screens, high gloss surfaces, unpolished wood or leather.
Avoid contact with skin: although it is not toxic, the abrasive texture can irritate the skin. It is best to wear gloves when using it on large areas or for long periods of time.
Try it on a small area first: we recommend testing it on a small, out of sight area to make sure it does not cause damage.
Moisten it slightly: most magic erasers work best when they are slightly moist.
What can I clean with the magic eraser sponge?
- Walls and doors: it is ideal to get rid of stains from painted walls, particularly pencil marks and hand marks that children tend to leave behind. It is also excellent to get rid of stains from doors around the house and other flat surfaces where stains and dirt tend to build up.
- Restoring appliances: our household appliances, particularly white ones, often yellow over time. You can restore them to their original colour and get rid of hard to remove stains using magic eraser, particularly on the outsides of microwaves, ovens and fridges.
- Garden furniture: plastic or resin garden furniture that is exposed to the elements tends to get dirty and lose its shine as time goes by. Magic eraser can help to restore those items, making them look a lot cleaner again.
- Restoring trainers: one of the things that magic eraser fans like best is restoring their trainers, particularly white rubber. You can get rid of stains from the soles and make them look brand new again.
- Bathrooms: it is effective for cleaning baths and tiles to get rid of soap stains, hard water stains and even mould. Its abrasive power helps you to effortlessly keep those surfaces shiny.
- Removing stains from floors: it is a quick way to get rid of scuff or black marks caused by dragging furniture across the floor or from shoes without damaging the surface.
