High ponytail and plait hairstyles have become the trending look at weddings and other social events this year. Discover these and other similar looks!

Whether in the summer months or in winter, high ponytails and plaits are all the rage because of how versatile they are, and depending on how we do them, they can save us on a bad hair day, improve our look and give style to our figures to shine at any event. Would you like to know what sort of high ponytails and plaits are in fashion? We’re going to tell you all about them.
Types of high ponytail styles
If there is one hairstyle that never goes out of fashion, it is the ponytail. It is indispensable to get us out of a tight spot in any situation. Among the different types of ponytails, there is one summer style if your hair is long enough, which we can resort to for some relief from the summer heat, but also for a more sophisticated look without just having to simply tie our hair back... the high ponytail! Take note of the different top trending ponytail hairstyles at beauty salons.

Wavy high ponytail
This type of high ponytail hairstyle has become one of the most sought after styles at hairdressers for events such as wedding, baptisms, communions, etc. The perfect look for guests. There are many ways to do this hairstyle, but the common key to all wavy ponytails is to polish your hair well with the help of a brush, make well marked waves using hair tongues, gather up your hair (depending on the finish you want to achieve) and then, when it is held tightly in place using hairpins, undo the waves with the help of a wide-tooth comb.
Polished high ponytail
Hairstyles such as polished high ponytails are more in fashion than ever before, and apart from being extremely elegant, they also have a lifting effect on the face. So people with straight hair who can’t make waves are lucky.
You can do this style with or without a parting, but the key to the polished high ponytail is securing your hair from the roots to the ends. How? Using hair wax, gel, serums and hairspray to set your hair without sticking it or flattening it.

Casual high ponytail
This hairstyle is perfect for partying or a day at the office. What is the key? To give a little volume to your roots. How? Gently back-combing your hair using a narrow-toothed comb. This type of high ponytail is not as elaborate as the wavy or polished ones, and you can wear your hair more naturally, make casual waves or go for a crazier texture using styling water or hair styling powder. It's up to you!
Bubble ponytail
Hardly surprisingly, bubble ponytails have been one of the most popular styles for several years now! Depending on how we do it, the result will be fitting for the perfect guest or you could even become the queen of the summer fête. What is the key? It all depends on how you cover the hair ties (or not as the case may be) that you use to make the bubbles.

Hairstyles with plaits
Hairstyles with plaits are a classic that are forever being reinvented. Every year we find new styles and looks with increasingly more elaborate plaits. This is mostly during the hotter months of the year, when we want to keep our hair out of our faces. It is also particularly the case when we go to the beach, summer concerts or festivals, where we want to be comfortable, but fashionable. So is there a type of festival hairstyle more comfortable than a plait? Take note of these looks!

XXL plaits
This hairstyle is only for people with very long hair, or XXL length hair extensions. The Kardashian sisters made this type of plait popular, consisting of a polished ponytail, and then plaiting it down to your waist. Or further still! You will have to remember to cover up the hair ties though using a lock of your own hair and hair clips for a more glamorous look. Dare to try!
Backward fringe braids
Fringe braids give you a really fresh summery style and are a simple way to change your look. Whether we make a French plait from the roots, baby braids or Mohican braids, fringe braids are suitable for all hair types... And stylish too! If you have rebellious hair, you may need some styling cream or foam to give you hair the texture it needs and to hold the braids or plaits tightly in place... and without leaving any residue so your ponytail is loose and shiny.

Two strand plaits
This type of plait is made using two strands of hair instead of three. This is one of the most enhancing, striking forms of seasonal plait styles, and they are not particularly common. How do we do them? By twisting the ends together before plaiting them. They can be done from the root, boxer style, or a single plait... There are endless possibilities.
Reverse plait
This type of plait style is rather unusual, and it is the complete opposite of the original version. We can use any style, with the only difference being that we start making the plait from the nape up to the crown. Warning! Remember to use hairspray to give it as much shine as possible.

When doing your favourite hairstyle, remember how important applying heat protector is before using any hair moulding tools. Be the difference!
