Fake freckles: How to make them step by step
Fake freckles add a delightful effect to your makeup routine. We’re going to tell you how to do them to make them look natural.

Natural makeup has been fashionable for several years now, the sort that leaves our skin visible, its texture and colour... Without camouflage. This is particularly the case in makeup for beginners routines, or for skin that only needs its natural beauty to be enhanced. Making or creating fake freckles is one of the makeup trends that has really taken off over recent years. We’re going to give you the step by step guide on how to do them.
How to make fake freckles in 3 steps
- Choose the right product: choose an eyeliner pencil or an eyebrow pencil that is similar in colour to your freckles, or a coffee coloured one. In these cases, it is best to choose a long-lasting one so that your fake freckles don’t rub away too easily. When creating your fake freckles, you can also paint them on using a brown creamy eyeshadow and a very fine eyeliner brush, using the tip to draw the freckle.

- Make realistic shapes: paint on top of your own freckles (if you have any) or use the pencil to paint very small dots on your face. Warning! If you want a natural looking finish to your makeup, remember that people who have freckles have them on other places too, not just on their noses or cheeks. Paint some more freckles on to make them look less artificial.
- Fix the makeup on: if you don’t want your fake freckles to rub off, not only should you use a long-lasting product, but you should also apply some compact powder to fix the freckles on. Use a makeup brush or a powder brush to do this.

For your freckles to look as realistic as possible, we recommend not going over the top with your look, and applying natural look eye makeup.
