Movie recipes: original and delicious

The movies, especially the good ones, usually leave a good taste in the mouth. Today we review some of the most remembered recipes from the movies of the last decades.
Either because they give the film its title, because of the moment of the story in which they appear or because they are already part of our collective imagination, these dishes are now the history of cinema and also of gastronomy.
'Ratatouille'
Ratatouille, which makes the mouse chef Remy triumph in the funny cartoon film, is a typical dish of French gastronomy with many variations. As a base it has aubergine, zucchini, green pepper, red pepper and tomato. It can be prepared with sliced vegetables, which is the most common, or in pieces, baked or in a casserole, and always seasoned with olive oil, salt, garlic and Provencal herbs.
Ingredients
· 250 g eggplant
· 125 g zucchini
· 150 g onion
· 250 g tomato
· 150 g green pepper
· 40 g of oil olive
· 2 g aromatic herbs
· 2 garlic cloves
· Salt
Elaboration:
1. Wash the aubergine and zucchini, and cut them into 1cm-thick squares.
2. Put them on a tray and sprinkle them with plenty of salt. Let stand about 30 minutes, so that they release their juice.
3. Rinse and drain well.
4. Peel and chop the garlics.
5. Peel and cut the onion, into thin slices.
6. Peel the tomatoes (blanch them beforehand to facilitate peeling), remove the seeds and cut into cubes.
7. Wash and clean the peppers and cut them into longitudinal strips.
8. In a frying pan, heat a drizzle of oil and fry the eggplant separately, then the zucchini, the pepper and finally the onion.
9. And book.
10. In the same pan, reheat the vegetables (add more oil if necessary).
11. Add the tomato, garlic and aromatic herbs; season.
12. Stir well, cover and cook until the vegetables are tender.
13. Remove and serve.

The spaghetti that made us fall in love with 'The Lady and the Tramp'

Ingredients
· 500 g minced beef
· 1 egg
· Bread crumbs
· flour
· 1/2 tablespoon chopped parsley
· 1 minced garlic clove o 1/2 teaspoon dried minced garlic
· 1/2 glass of milk and a slice of bread from the day before (optional)
· 500 g fried tomato
· 500 g spaghetti
· Oil olive
· Salt
Elaboration:
1. We put the minced meat in a large bowl and mix well with the egg, parsley and minced garlic until a uniform dough is obtained.
2. If we use the milk and bread from the day before, we soften it in hot milk.
3. Add to the mixture and season to taste
4. We work the dough well and taking portions of the meat dough with a spoon we shape the meatballs with the help of our hands.
5. Flour lightly and reserve.
6. We fry the meatballs in very hot oil, turning from time to time and trying not to lose their round shape.
7. When they brown, we leave them on absorbent paper so that they release the excess oil.
8. Once they are ready, return to the pan and add the fried tomato on top. We keep the heat low and let it cook for 10 minutes so that they finish cooking inside and take in all the flavor of the sauce.
9. Cook the spaghetti following the instructions on the package.
10. We present the dish by placing the pasta first and 3 or 4 meatballs on top.

'American Pie’
First it was the cake, then the song, which has hundreds of versions, and then the movie and its sequels. And is that American Pie is more than a recipe, it is a concept very made in the USA that would be summed up in the loss of innocence. Discover its preparation step by step.
Ingredients
· Two plates of shortbread
· 1/2 kg apples
· 100 gr brown sugar
· Juice of 1/2 lemon
· 1 pinch of salt y cinnamon powder
· 1 pinch of vanilla and anise extract (optional)
Elaboration:
1. Stretch one of the dough plates well in a baking dish and pierce with a fork so that it does not rise. Heat in the oven at 200º until it starts to brown. Take out and reserve.
2. To prepare the filling: wash and peel the apples, remove the core and cut into small pieces. Mix in a bowl with the juice of half a lemon, the cinnamon, and if we include them, the anise and vanilla extracts. Also add the brown sugar.
3. Mix well, cover with transparent film and put the bowl in the fridge to macerate for a couple of hours.
4. After this time, pour the filling over the baked dough, avoiding liquid from falling. Once the dough is filled, place the other half of the dough and with the help of a pizza cutter, cut strips to cover the top of the cake. In the American style the strips are crisscrossed to form a lattice.
5. Cook the cake in the oven, previously heated, for about 40 minutes or until the browning is to your liking.

Burger Big Kahuna, de ‘Pulp Fiction’
Present in 'Reservoir Dogs', 'Four rooms', 'Open until dawn', and of course 'Pulp Fiction', Tarantino's Big Kahuna hamburger has become one more fictional product. Although the recipe is not detailed in any of these films, moviegoers and foodies agree that this burger has a Hawaiian touch, because Kahuna is the title given to priests in Hawaii. We share our version.
Ingredients
· Pineapple
· Specific hamburger bun
· Beef and pork
· Cheddar cheese
· Ketchup
· Sauce teriyaki
· Onion
Elaboration:
1. Caramelize the pineapple and onion.
2. Toast the burger bun with butter.
3. Assemble to taste

'Fried Green Tomatoes’
A typical recipe from the southern United States to which the movie, with the same name of this dish, made it popular. Fried green tomatoes are often eaten as a garnish for meat and fish or as an aperitif. Be very careful because the corn flour is not Maizena, but it is the yellow and thick flour that is used to make arepas and gives that special crunchy point to the batter.
Ingredientes
· 500 g green or unripe tomatoes
· 100 g normal wheat flour
· 50 g corn flour (to make arepas, not cornstarch)
· 1 egg
· 125 g natural yogurt
· 50 ml milk
· Cayenne powder or other spicy seasoning
· Salt
· Pepper
Elaboración:
1. First we wash the tomatoes well, cut them into slices about 1 cm thick, and place them on absorbent paper to lose moisture.
2. Next, we beat the egg and mix it with the yogurt and milk.
3. In a separate bowl, we will mix the flours, a pinch of salt, pepper and cayenne powder or other spices to taste.
4. Meanwhile, we heat a large skillet with olive oil over medium-high heat. And we are going to pass the tomato slices first through the egg and yogurt mixture, then drain and, finally, we will coat with a good layer of the flour mixture.
5. We fry the tomatoes in small batches leaving enough space in the pan. When the bottom side is golden brown, we turn over and fry the other part. Once the tomatoes are fried, we will deposit them on absorbent paper.
6. We can accompany them with mayonnaise or with a sauce based on yogurt.

Ingredientes
· 120 ml de mild olive oil
· 320 g sugar
· 2 eggs
· 2 level tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
· 1 teaspoon red paste food coloring
· 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
· 250 ml milk
· 2 teaspoons lemon juice
· 300 g of flour
· 1 teaspoon baking soda
· 2 teaspoons white vinegar
For the filling and decoration:
· 250 g butter at room temperature
· 600 g icing sugar
· 250 g cream cheese
Elaboración:
1. We preheat the oven to 180ºC.
2. To substitute the buttermilk or buttermilk we are going to add a splash of lemon to the milk. We booked.

10. After time, we unmold and let cool completely on a rack.
11. Finally, we are going to prepare the cream. To do this, we sift the icing sugar and mix it in a bowl with the creamy butter. Beat at maximum speed for 5 minutes or until the mixture increases in volume, clears and has a texture similar to that of ice cream.
12. Add the cheese to the cream and beat for 3 more minutes. We introduce the cream in a pastry bag with a large round nozzle.
13. We equalize the cakes with a lira or knife and proceed to fill them with the cream.
14. We have a layer of sponge cake and we make points with the sleeve in the shape of a circle. Cover with the other layer of sponge cake and decorate it in the shape of petals.
15. Sprinkle crumbs from the cake cuts with the help of a strainer.
