One of the biggest mistakes is to think that we should use blue tones to make up blue eyes so that they stand out; nothing is further from the truth. If we use blue, the colour of our eyes will not stand out, as it will just blend in.
Learn how to choose make-up for light-coloured eyes
For daytime make-up, experts recommend applying tones such as beige, gold or mink on blue eyes, if you want to achieve a sweeter look. Although we can add a touch of coral or earth tones to give more intensity.
For this we will apply a light coral colour on the mobile eyelid and intensify with earth tones. Then we will outline the eye in black, but only the upper waterline to give depth to our look, and finally mascara.
If we want a riskier daytime makeup option, we can try copper and gold tones, which will make blue eyes shine.
If we want to achieve a more sophisticated make-up, for a party or at night, we can go for a smokey eye look in black, grey or silver tones that will add depth to our look, as well as make the blue glow more intensely. However, we should not go too far with the use of very dark eye-shadows or only black. It is better to get a light smokey look and not obliterate the luminosity of the eyes.
Although another possibility for blue eyes is to highlight them with an eyeliner. Just use a simple black eyeliner to extend the look to infinity. This is perfect for blue eyes and there is no need to resort to more.
In the same way, even if you choose to enhance the underline, or the area under the lower eyelashes, also in black, this adds a lot of intensity to the look, but without losing amplitude. Here we would apply a light grey or silver shadow, a good illuminator and then the eyeliner above and below the eye, in black.
