How to organise the pantry: ideas and tips
In each house there is a different place for food storage. We help you organize your pantry whatever the space you have.

Keeping the spaces in your home tidy has a direct influence on the well-being of the people living in the house. In addition, tidiness in the home always saves time. In this article, discover how to organise your pantry with some useful ideas and simple tips.
Basic tips to organise the pantry
Place the ingredients you consume the least at the back of your pantry, and those you use regularly at the front. Use the first few rows for smaller or shorter products, and the last few rows for larger and taller ones, so you don't spend too much time finding the ingredients you need.
If you use glass jars for food, such as cereals, pulses, salt, sugar, etc., you can label the jars or classify them by type of food. For example: use one shelf only for pulses, one shelf only for cereals, another for spices and condiments, etc.
In addition, if you organise your cabinet or pantry correctly you will avoid your products expiring and being stored for longer than they should be.
Organise your pantry in 5 steps
We tell you how to keep your pantry clean and tidy in just 5 steps:
- Empty the pantry, check all the expiry dates of the ingredients you have stored, and discard those you can no longer consume. Take advantage of this to clean the inside of the cabinets. You can do this easily with a cloth and a kitchen cleaner, which will also leave a pleasant aroma.
- Keep as much as you can in airtight glass jars. And classify them in such a way that the least used and largest are left at the back, and the daily consumption and smaller ones are in the front rows. Label the jars to quickly identify their contents.
- Sort the products by category. This way, you will always know where, in the pantry, the products you are looking for are.
- Be creative and use the space to the maximum. You can put supports on the actual shelf to give you double height, or use the inside of the cabinet door to put small shelves.
- If your pantry is high, put the heaviest products at the bottom (milk, juice, water...) and the lightest ones at the top (kitchen paper, coffee...).
The secret is to have everything visible and easily accessible. If you are able to identify what you are looking for in just a few seconds, you have done a great job in organising your pantry.
