Items you will need for removing acrylic nails

Removing acrylic nails step by step
File the surface of the nails. This will help break the seal and allow the acetone to penetrate.
Preparing the cotton and acetone: cut small pieces of cotton and submerge them in pure acetone. Acetone is essential to soften and dissolve the acrylic.
Applying the cotton: place the acetone-soaked cotton pad over each acrylic nail. Make sure that the cotton pad is in direct contact with the surface of the nail.
Secure the cotton to each nail: wrap each nail in tin foil to hold the cotton in place and speed up the process. This will also help to retain heat, which enhances the action of the acetone.
Leave it to work: allow the acetone to soak in for between 15 and 20 minutes to dissolve the acrylic. Don't be tempted to speed up the process by directly lifting the nail, otherwise you may damage your own nail underneath.
Removing the acrylic nails: after 15-20 minutes, gently remove the tin foil from each nail. Use a cotton bud or orange wood stick to gently remove the acrylic nails which will now have softened. If they are still hard to remove, wrap them in tin foil again and wait a few more minutes.
Filing: after removing your acrylic nails, gently file off any remains. Do not go over the top during this step so as not to damage your own nails.
Protecting: apply some cuticle oil to hydrate and condition your nails.
Extra care
If you notice any irritation or discomfort, stop the process and seek the help of a professional.
Avoid pulling off acrylic nails as this can damage your natural nails.
Hydrate your nails regularly after this process to keep them healthy.
