How to clean glass lamps

Cleaning a glass lamp can be easier than it looks. Here we give you some tips on how to remove all the dust and dirt that builds up on it over time and how to recover its original shine:

1. To start, you just need water and ammonia. Mix them in equal proportions in a spray bottle. Once you have mixed half and half, water and ammonia, shake and that’s it. All you need to do now is prepare the cleaning area.
2. Lay some plastic in order not to dirty the floor just under the lamp. You can use plastic bags. Make sure it is big enough to cover a large perimeter around the lamp, as when you apply the liquid, it will start to drip.
3. Once laid, spray the lamp with the previously prepared combination (be careful with the bulbs and electrics). Once you have finished spraying, leave the liquid on and it will start to gradually drip onto the plastic on the floor. You will how the dirty water drips.
4. Last of all, once the lamp is dry, you can remove the plastic. Take care when removing it because of the dirty water.

How to clean bronze lamps

In this case, we will show you how to clean bronze lamps step by step so that their original shine and elegance are restored without causing any damage. Always remember to try any cleaning product or method on a small inconspicuous area before applying it to the entire surface

Start by removing the dust accumulated on the surface of the lamp by using a soft, dry cloth.

Then, mix together lukewarm water and soap and dip a soft cloth in it. Then gently wipe the bronze lamp, making sure to cover all areas.

Once you have cleaned the entire lamp, rinse with clean water to remove any remains of soap and dry completely with another dry, clean cloth.

Last of all, if you want to give an extra shine to the bronze lamp, you can apply a specific polish for bronze with a soft cloth. 

How to clean a salt lamp

Salt lamps have become very popular all over the world in recent years. With this type of delicate lamp, cleaning is quite difficult. But don’t be put off, it is easy to make it as good as new without damaging it if you follow these simple steps:

• Switch off and unplug the salt lamp. Once it cools down, you can move on to the next step.
• Gently wipe the stone with a damp cloth. The cloth should not be too wet as, otherwise, it could drip. To avoid this, squeeze as much water as possible from the cloth.
• Use a microfibre cloth to dry the salt lamp.
• And that’s it, plug the lamp into the socket again and switch it on.
