How to deep clean the toilet

When it comes to cleaning the toilet, the most important thing to do is not just clean it, but also to use a disinfectant cleaner. A multipurpose cleaner won’t suffice.

What products should you use to clean a wc?

To be able to deep clean your toilet, the first thing you need to do is gather together the products you will need for cleaning it. 

You will need a disinfectant product. You can use bleach, on its own, a cleaner that contains bleach or make a mixture with water, oxygenated water and washing-up liquid. 

In addition, you will also need a scrubbing brush, the toilet brush, a few microfibre cloths and gloves to protect the skin on your hands.

Step by step to ensure your wc is spotless.

• Spray the inside and outside of the toilet and leave the product to activate.
• Start by cleaning from the outside and work inwards, first scrub the cistern and lid with a new or clean cloth.
• Then, using the smaller brush, scrub the smaller areas where dirt builds up in the wc, like around the screws of the lid and the holes where the water is released from the cistern.
• Use the larger toilet brush to scrub the inside.
• Leave the product to work again for a few minutes.
• Remove the excess product with a cloth and rinse the treated areas.

How to remove the incrusted scale from your wc?

To remove the incrusted scale from the wc, use bicarbonate of soda, citric acid, which is a descaler, and washing-up liquid. 
Mix equal amounts of bicarbonate of soda and citric acid and gradually add the washing-up liquid until it becomes dough-like. Stir until you get the desired consistency.

Once the mixture is ready, take portions depending on the amount of dirt and place it inside the toilet, spreading it with a scouring sponge and leaving it to activate.

After a while, add white vinegar and leave to rest for 15-20 mins.
