At Bodega de Consum, we have decided to refresh your summer without giving up wine. We already gave you the best recipes to make a good sangria, so today we give you some tips to show off your tinto de verano.

Let's first look at the difference between the two drinks: Tinto de verano is a mixture that only includes wine, soda and lots of ice. Whereas sangria is made by mixing soda, wine with a touch of liqueur, chopped fresh fruit and sugar.
Sangria could be considered a cocktail because of how it’s made, while tinto de verano would be a combinado (a mixture of two drinks), but let's see some variations that can make it the queen of the summer season:

This drink originated in Vargas, Cordoba, which is unsurprising given its high temperatures and the consequent need to adapt wine to these conditions. It was born as a blend of red wine and siphon.
The drink has evolved until it’s marketed ready to drink, in the Consum drinks section you can find it in its original and non-alcoholic version.

How to give it a twist if you make it or buy it?

-    The simplest and most popular is to pour the contents into a pitcher, add ice to taste and a few slices of lemon.
-    If you prefer, swap the soda for a lemon soda.
-    You can also try other citrus fruits: orange will give it a very Mediterranean touch, or grapefruit for lovers of more bitter drinks.
-    The wine you use should be a young red, as it will bring freshness and all the nuances of the fruit.
-    And if you want to try something different, try to make your own recipe with white wine.

With all these tips you are ready to enjoy the most refreshing summer!
