Discover the best moisturisers for greasy skin. Who says greasy skin doesn't need moisturising? It needs the same care as any other skin type, precisely to regulate oil. To care for greasy skin and control excess sebum, we must choose oil-free products that will also help us to avoid shine, and prevent pores from clogging, thus avoiding acne and pimples in the long run.

In the case of greasy skin, the aim of moisturising is to regulate the skin's natural balance so that it produces less sebum and helps us to look healthy and radiant.

To care for this skin type, the most important thing is to follow a daily facial cleansing routine. Ideally, twice a day, morning and evening. It is best to use alcohol-free products for cleansing, as these could have a rebound effect and cause more oiliness.

Once the skin has been cleansed, it should be moisturised. Just because it has oil does not mean it has water. Your skin must be kept hydrated. Apply specific creams for greasy skin, complemented with serums, which have a much lighter texture and are absorbed quickly.

At night, don't forget to treat your skin. After cleansing, you should also apply specific products for greasy skin that promote cell renewal and also treat sagging, as this type of skin tends to "sag" earlier than other skin types.

Moreover:

  • Use creams and serums rich in vitamins. For young skin, go for vitamin C, which refines the texture, reduces fine lines and brightens the skin. They also provide the skin with antioxidants, vitamins and protection against free radicals.

  • And from the age of 40 onwards, use a serum or cream based on retinol (a derivative of vitamin A), one of the most effective anti-wrinkle products. Retinol also controls oil secretion and reduces pores.

  • Take time for yourself and use face masks at least twice a week to deep cleanse excess sebum and get rid of dead skin cells. Opt for those that are clay-based or rich in glycolic acid.

What are oil-free moisturising creams?

Moisturisers labelled "Oil Free" are cosmetic products that do not contain any fatty agents and are therefore highly recommended for greasy and acne-prone skin.

In addition, they must meet the following requirements:

  • The list of ingredients must not include any ingredient with the designation oil.

  • It must be light in texture and easily absorbed.

  • It should be formulated with mattifying and oil-absorbing ingredients.
