What is rosemary alcohol?
Rosemary alcohol is a traditional remedy that people have been using since time began because of its medicinal and therapeutic properties. It is made from rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), a Mediterranean plant known for its versatility in natural medicine, which is combined with ethyl alcohol to make a solution containing the concentrated active ingredients of the herb.

What is rosemary alcohol used for?
It has earned itself a good reputation over the years because of its benefits for our health, particularly in relieving muscle and joint pain, improving circulation and also in skincare.

Properties of rosemary alcohol
Rosemary contains several active compounds that have medicinal effects. Among the most important ones are the essential oils (such as cineole, camphor and borneol), phenolic acids, flavonoids and tannins. These substances confer the following key properties to rosemary alcohol:
- Anti-inflammatory: rosemary has anti-inflammatory properties that can help to reduce swelling and alleviate discomfort caused by muscle or joint pain and minor injuries.
- Analgesic: thanks to its ability to reduce pain, rosemary alcohol is popular as a natural remedy to relieve muscle pain, headaches and rheumatic pain.
- Circulation stimulant: when applied to the skin, rosemary oil stimulates blood circulation, which can help improve blood flow in areas affected by cramps, tight muscles or poor circulation.
- Antiseptic and antibacterial: the compounds contained in rosemary work as disinfecting agents, which can help to prevent infections in minor cuts and grazes.
- Astringent: rosemary alcohol has a toning effect on the skin, helping to make it less oily, thereby improving the appearance of open pores and to make our skin firmer and healthier.

How to use rosemary alcohol
Rosemary alcohol is applied externally, usually through massages or rubbing it on the affected areas. For the best results, we recommend rubbing it into the skin until it has been completely absorbed.
Precaution
- Avoid using it on sensitive skin: it can be too strong for sensitive or dry skin, causing irritation. It should not be used on irritated skin, burns or open wounds, since it can sting or cause irritation.
- Topical use only: rosemary alcohol should never to ingested, since it is exclusively designed for external use.
- Avoid contact with the eyes: if it comes into contact with your eyes, you should rinse them immediately with water to avoid irritation.
