4 Christmas makeup looks

Subtítulo

This year, which is so different, surprise everyone by saying goodbye to the year with these Christmas makeup ideas, so you look perfect.

We still don’t really know how we are going to organise this festive season, so this has an impact on us when we choose our outfits and, of course, when we choose our makeup and hairstyles.

The experts advise us that, whatever we do, and whether there are 2, 4 or 6 of us, we should still dress up and maintain the festive spirit of Christmas so the difference is not so great, and everything is as "normal" as possible.

Christmas Eve makeup: How to accompany your outfit?

This season, makeup specialists have chosen to highlight eyes or lips. For our skin, they advise us neutral tones, that is, the key lies in being made up but without looking as if we are. Well-treated skin, with a nude base, a powder pink blush and a lip gloss can help us achieve this natural look.

If we want to highlight our eyes for Christmas Eve, we can choose bright colours, but, above all, apply the "blurring" technique on the eyeshadow. Gold eyeshadows are also a winter trend.

As for our lips, if we want them to stand out the most in our makeup, we will choose pink tones, which, apart from being fashionable, will go very well with the rest of the neutral makeup that we have applied on our skin.

Natural or fantasy makeup? You choose, anything goes

We present you two options for Christmas Day:

  • Natural and simple makeup: We will continue to use makeup on our skin that makes it look as natural as possible. We will apply a concealer on the dark circles under our eyes, followed by a nude tone base, illuminating the part of the tear duct well, as well as the upper part of our cheekbones, to light up the area around the eyes. Next, we will outline our eyes very well, a tendency that is here to stay and that manages to highlight our eyes without using eyeshadows. To finish this simple makeup, we will apply blush in pink or powdery peach tone. We have two options for our lips that combine perfectly with the eyeliner: lip gloss or a lipstick in pink tones will give us that natural look.

  • Fantasy makeup: If, in contrast, we decide that we want our makeup to look more festive, we will highlight our eyes. To do this, we can use several makeup techniques:

  1. On the one hand, we have the smokey eye technique. To obtain this smokey effect and not look like a "panda", we will start by applying a pre-base or undereye concealer, and a dark grey base that should be creamy. Then we can apply our favourite black eye shadow, which can be matte or glossy, just above the concave part of the eye. Then, we will blur with a brown shade or, if we are looking for something more special, purple or wine, for example. And we will finish with a black pencil at the root of the lower eyelashes.

  2. And, if we want something festive, but more discreet, as we mustn’t forget that it is daytime, we can choose gold tones to make up our eyes, but these should be matte, not glossy. Then we will perfectly apply a black eyeliner and mascara, but only on the upper part. We will use a pink blush tone on the cheekbone area to obtain a "blushed" look, and we will apply pink or carmine shades on our lips.

How to adapt your makeup for New Year’s Eve

New Year's Eve is the perfect night to apply party makeup. Even if we're going to stay at home, we should continue to get dressed up and bring out our more festive side. We will take advantage of this night to apply shades such as gold, silver, or other bright tones such as violet, or the strongest blues to follow the latest fashion trend. For our eyes to really stand out in this look, we must follow the rule of not going too far with the rest of our makeup, once again resorting to nude tones for our skin, lots of illuminator and gloss, or light pink tones on the lips.

Don't forget to outline your eyes well in black, both on the upper lid and on the lower waterline.

One thing to bear in mind, the colour we choose for our eyeshadow should not depend on the colours of our clothes, but rather, on our skin tone and our eye colour.

If we opt for a slightly more daring look, if possible, we can use a deep red lipstick.
