The sardine is an oily fish belonging to the Clupeidae family. It is a small fish with an elongated body, slightly oval in shape and with a silver colour, although with greenish or blue spots on the back.
This animal is covered with large and irregular scales and has a small and pointed head, which features bulging and bright eyes. The sardine has a dorsal fin, a tail fin, and two abdominal fins.
