Persimmon
Persimmon is the berry from a tropical tree from the Ebenaceae family of the same name. This fruit has a smooth, shiny and orange skin, although with some varieties the colour ranges from red to yellow.
The flavour of the persimmon varies depending on its ripeness: while the pulp of the unripened fruit has a pungent taste, when the fruit is ripe it takes on a very sweet and smooth flavour.

Within the composition of the persimmon, we can find a high proportion of carbohydrates, most of which are sugars. This fruit contains a high fibre and water content, as well as being rich in vitamins from groups A and C, which help to prevent oxidative damage. In terms of their mineral content, persimmons are rich in magnesium, phosphorous and potassium, the latter in the highest quantity. In addition, this fruit contains tannins, although these vary according to its maturity.
