Monkfish
Monkfish is a white fish belonging to the family of Lophius. It is a large fish with a notably large flat head, surrounded by lobes, featuring a huge mouth with a multitude of sharp teeth and two appendages that serve to catch its prey.
Its skin is viscous and brown in colour, with occasional reddish tones. Different varieties of this fish exist, and are differentiated by the colour of their peritoneum. They include common monkfish, black monkfish and Cape monkfish.
