Horse mackerel
Horse mackerel, also known as jack mackerel and scad, is an oily saltwater fish belonging to the Carangidae family. It has an elongated and compact greenish-blue body, with white or silver tones, and a light-coloured belly.
Its eyes and mouth are very large in relation to the size of its head. The horse mackerel's main characteristic is that it has two dorsal fins of differing size and radius which house poisonous stingers.

Horse mackerel is an oily fish with a relatively high fat content, although its consumption is not discouraged as this fat is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. This fish is a source of protein, vitamins and minerals such as selenium, phosphorus and potassium.
