Grapefruit
The grapefruit is the fruit of the tree that receives the same name and that belongs to the Rutaceae family. This tree forms hermaphroditic flowers that later become small endings that bear the fruit of the grapefruit.
This fruit has a spherical shape and a thick yellow rind with pinkish tints. Its pulp is similar to that of an orange and contains numerous vesicles filled with juice, very juicy and with an acid or sweet taste, depending on the variety.

Some benefits you didn't know about taking grapefruit
As with many fruits, the main component of grapefruit is water, followed by carbohydrates and a high level of vitamins from group C, which help to prevent oxidative ageing. It is worth noting that grapefruits are rich in carotenoids, such as lycopene, which is responsible for giving a reddish tone to the red varieties of this fruit. In terms of their mineral content, magnesium, calcium and potassium stand out.
Grapefruit also contains acids including malic acid and citric acid, which boost the antioxidant action of vitamin C.
