Spring colour

When spring arrives, everything seems to take on a new colour. To start with, we have more hours of daylight and the flowers look prettier than ever. Just like nature starts to wear its best finery, we, too, discard those more neutral tones and dull faces, to experience a true explosion of colour. And this change is not only seen in the new season’s garments, but also in the make-up and products we stop using, and those others that now become all important. Today, I want to talk to you about my typical make-up routine for this season that is just starting out, and that comprises products that I buy at Consum Supermarkets.
Now is the time when our lips once again take centre stage, and for our skin, we prefer light and more light without so much coverage. In other words, what we understand as a fresh look, but with a spring touch and much more cheerful tones.
Although the truth is that, as in recent years, red is once again the favourite of almost all women all year round (you already know that it has been my hallmark for ‘yonks’), now is when the colour range increases, with different tones of red, pink, coral, salmon,…. the possibilities are endless! And, undoubtedly, it is the perfect touch for this new season.
In contrast to the intense and more powerful reds of winter and the colder season, now we can get that juicy and colourful effect with Maybelline’s Baby Lips Color Balm Crayon, which offers us a great variety to choose from. And best of all? We not only achieve an attractive effect, but we will also be looking after our lips as we manage to keep them hydrated and protected for 8 hours. For the most daring of you, one of them has a purple tone which, once applied, leaves a subtle and fantastic colour!
Something basic for me, at this time of the year, is to gradually get ready for that slightly tanned skin we achieve over the next few months. As I am still not going to sunbathe for the moment, something that I love to do is to add extra light to my make-up so that it is a progressive process 😉. To do this, I have found a great ally in Maybelline’s Master Camo palette, which I also find really practical, as it has absolutely everything I need to get that effect that I looove so much in just one case. In fact, in just three steps I can manage to control imperfections, correct dark circles (since I became a mum this step is an absolute must) and also highlight my face. What more can you ask for?!
It is very simple, because, depending on your needs, you can choose the tone that suits you best.
Shall I explain a little more?
To correct imperfections: you can use green to dissimulate those red spots and/or zits, while yellow is perfect for anyone whose veins can be seen, or who has purple areas.
If your problem (like mine) are dark circles and you suffer from the panda mum's syndrome: the lighter tone will be used for light-coloured circles and the dark tone for more intense ones or for imperfections.
If you want to highlight your face: for the lower area of your brow, you must use the lighter tone while for the lower area of your cheekbones, the more intense tone is more suitable.
Is it, or isn’t it, our perfect ally? I definitely find it convenient and practical, and I get natural and perfect results!
Of course, everyone likes that natural look at this time of the year; we want to wear make-up but without it looking as if we are wearing it, and I can assure you that with the help of these two products, it is much, much easier! 😉
