Partnerships
Consum is integrated into the fabric of society via its membership in multiple sectoral associations and the social economy, as well as foundations and research centres.
For more than 10 years now, Consum has been member of the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact, the largest association of companies for the promotion of sustainable development in the world.
Through the signing of collaboration agreements with various entities, Consum also gives its support to projects and initiatives that reinforce its essence as a Cooperative and socially- and environmentally- responsible company. Featured collaborations include:
- The Purchase of Your Life: Consum has renewed its commitment to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (Asociación Española contra el Cáncer, or AECC) for the third consecutive year, participating in its campaign “The Purchase of Your Life.” Thanks to the generosity of Consum’s customers, a total of €289,849 has been raised. All donations are transferred in full to the AECC to support cancer research and fund support services for patients and families affected by the disease.
- Hospital Clowns: This year marks the twentieth consecutive year that the Cooperative has collaborated with Payasospital to provide emotional support to children admitted to hospital and their families. Thanks to this collaboration agreement, more than 1,600 hospitalised children have benefited from the support of Payasospital over the past 20 years, helping to improve their emotional well-being and quality of life. To date, Consum has contributed a total of €119,000 to this initiative.
- Josep Carreras Foundation: Consum has supported the work of the Josep Carreras Foundation in the fight against leukaemia for eleven consecutive years. Over this period, the Cooperative has donated a total of €23,000 to help support patients and fund research into the disease. Consum also distributes shopping vouchers to patients who have travelled far from home to receive treatment and are temporarily staying in accommodation provided by the Foundation.
